Message Of A Christening

Another creations Gaudi. A church and its crypt, built between the years 1908 and 1914 from a drawing of 1898.

The building is named after the greatest benefactor of Gaudi, Eusebi Güell, who also built a palace at Gaudi and a park in his name.

As with all works of Gaudi, the church features unusual and irregular columns and windows with strange shapes.

The interior columns are not vertical and most run from floor to ceiling without ever forming a right angle. The windows are a multitude of spots of color, everything seems surreal.

This building is not best known, but it shows the church by Gaudi.

Information t ouristiques

The site has an information center on the church and the works of Gaudi in general.

The trip to Colonia Guell in Barcelona takes 20 minutes by train. It costs a little over one euro and trains are regular.

Opening hours vary depending on time of year but there is normally a daily mass. The church is open from 10:00 to 19:00 in summer with a break between 14:00 and 15:00. The opening hours are reduced on Sundays and winter.
